What is the CfSH
In April 2007 the Code for Sustainable Homes, also known as CfSH, replaced Eco homes for the assessment of new housing in England. The Code is an Environmental Assessment method for new homes based upon Building Research Establishment's (BRE) Eco Homes and contains mandatory performance levels in 7 key areas including energy, water and waste.

SAP and The Building Regulations
The Building Regulations for England and Wales Compliance part L1 require all news properties to be assessed using Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) ratings for energy conservation. Using a SAP Assessment you will be given a detailed report highlighting the Environmental Impact Rating (EIR) and establish the subsequent the running cost of the dwelling.
As approved and registered members of the Elmhurst Energy Government approved Accreditation Scheme our On Construction Domestic Energy Assessors are able to produce Energy Performance Certificates for all new build domestic dwellings, this includes conversions of existing dwellings.
The Energy Performance Certificate
When constructing a new dwelling you are required to show that you are meeting the latest Building Regulations with respect to Energy Usage and CO², the UK Government is using the provision of Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's) calculated using the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) to full fill EU Regulations.
We offer Test Certification to L1A standard to help meet the latest building regulations of England and Wales. We work closely with our clients to achieve desired pass rates. Air tightness of buildings was first addressed in the UK as part of the 2002 Building regulations, under the section Part L Conservation of Fuel and Power.
Part L1A of the Building Regulations: Air Leakage
Part L1A of the 2006 Building regulations requires all new homes to be tested for Air Leakage. As Accredited engineers our tests are undertaken in line with the requirements of the ATTMA technical standard TS1 and our certificates are accepted by Building Control officers. We are able to undertake air testing on all Domestic dwellings.
