Code for Sustainable Homes is an assessment grading scheme for new build developments, which can be required as part of a planning condition or contract with local authorities or housing associations. Whilst the scheme itself has been closed, we still offer the service if required and can also offer BREEAM Domestic and Home Quality Mark Assessments as a direct replacement.
Energy Performance Certificates are required on new building domestic dwellings under Part L1A and commercial buildings under part L2A of the building regulation. The EPC can be used by potential purchases to assesses the energy requirements of the property. Sadler Energy can also provide Predicted Energy Assessments (PEA) at design stage, if required.
Sadler Energy is a fully accredited Air Leakage Testing provider, offering both ATTMA and UKAS Compliant testing as required under part L1A of the building regulations. L1B of the building regulations require extensions where there will be an amount of glazing that accounts to the equivalent of 25% of the extension floor area
or when a highly glazed area, such as an orangery, is to be opened up to the main house, to demonstrate that it will not be detrimental to the overall energy performance of the property as a whole.
