Site Waste Management Plans Best Practice


It is a mandatory requirement for all development projects over £300,000 within England to implement a Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP). Part Waste 2 of the Code for Sustainable Homes 2010 deals specifically with Site Waste and there are 3 credits available for developers who implement a Site Waste Management Plan. It is therefore beneficial for both small and large developers to implement a SWMP, especially for those who are looking to achieve higher levels within the Code.

Code for Sustainable Homes an Overview


The Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) is a UK government scheme to assess and certify the environmental performance of new build homes. The Code is based on an earlier scheme, introduced by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), called EcoHomes. The aim of the Scheme is to encourage developers to improve the sustainability when constructing new homes.
